One more day as a Mom of 2!!!

We are doing well!  It seems to have been so long since I updated our blog, I guess we have been busy, nothing too exciting. Here's an update on each of us... and our family as it is now, and not for much longer!!!

Miss Ciella is 5 going on 16, a total drama queen with quite the attitude! She is learning quickly that she must keep her attitude in check though or she spends an awful lot of time on "time out." It is so fun to watch her grow and mature, especially because she seems so grown up. Most recently she has taken on Garrett's love of Architecture (she is a total Daddy's girl), and spends plenty of time flipping through his books filled with cool buildings and designing her own. She really wants her dad to build them a tree house (we have the perfect tree in our backyard)  and hopes to help him design it I'm sure! She said to Garrett just a few nights ago that she didn't want to be just a kid anymore, she wanted to be an Architect and a kid. Garrett was thrilled I'm sure, but then she followed it with, "And I don't want to play with toys anymore, just architecture stuff." Garrett reminded her she could do both and she quickly said, "but I don't want to."  So the next morning I wake up to her just sitting in bed flipping through his books again! Garrett loves it.  Her and Cadence play really well together, except for the few normal sisterly fights, they love playing together and miss each other when the other isn't around.
Ciella loves school and her teacher. She hates homework just as much though. It seems like so much work for kids to be doing each day for kindergarten, but she is reading well and gets excited when she sounds out a hard word all by her self! For Christmas Santa brought the girls a trampoline, and first thing in the morning, sometimes by 7 am, they are asking to play outside on the tramp. Even if they aren't jumping they are still outside playing some game or another on the trampoline. I would say its easily the best present we have ever gotten the girls! And it gives me so much extra time to do what I need to get done, its a great babysitter.
Garrett taught Ciella how to turn on the TV, the play station and our netflicks account , so she just gets up and helps herself to a kids show long before we are even up and out of bed. Thanks for nothing Garrett!  I HATE to see us losing TOTAL control over them, but I know its productive for them to be independent. Now the rule is she HAS to ASK PERMISSION before turning on the TV.
Miss Cadence Faye is still just the sweetest little girl ever. That is only true though if she isn't in the middle of an attitude attack! She is learning so well how to be naughty thanks to Ciella. She actually went through a terrible stage not long ago when if she didn't get what she wanted, or simply got mad, would go through this mad tantrum. Kicking, screaming at the top of her lungs, biting herself, hurting herself trying to free herself from her car seat if we were in the car. I won't lie, Garrett and I were actually quiet worried for a few weeks when she would go through these tantrums and I would end up in tears, sobbing, not knowing how to handle it. It was intense to say the least, but as quickly as they started, she stopped having them. Thank the heavens!!!
She normally is so sweet, constantly telling you how much she loves you and wanting a hug and a kiss. She LOVES to have Garrett or I lay beside her at night just until she relaxes and then almost instantly falls asleep.
She LOVES Ciella and follows her everywhere she can. She can't wait to start school and is practicing her letters and how to write her name. If Ciella is at the table doing home work, you can bet Cadence is also at the table, doing some form of homework I have made up for her to do. She is a total girlie girl. She changes her clothes about 10 times a day and is usually in a dress, skirt or her favorite... leggings! And if its pink, all the better. Just as important as her clothes are this girls shoes, she LOVES shoes and no matter what store we are at, she has picked out what shoes she'd like you to buy her! (Ciella still doesn't care what she wears, and I still usually pick out her clothes for her). She loves dress up and its always in the frilliest dress up we have. She loves to sing and dance which she has picked up from Ciella. They often ask us to record them singing and dancing. She is still a daddy's girl but since she just hangs out with me almost all day, hopefully she will like me as much as she loves Garrett one day! She loves to be held still and cuddles with us ALL the time. She is still so petite, so she is still pretty easy to carry around. Even with myself being 9 months pregnant I still carry her if she's in need of some "Mom" time. I don't think she even weighs 30 lbs yet. She is a little bit of a trouble maker with our little dog though, she loves this dogs guts and is CONSTANTLY picking her up.
Most recently they got themselves into a bit of trouble with the scissors! I had given both of the girls a pair of scissors to cut out things from the news paper, a favorite activity for Ciella at school. Garrett was working on a project in the room next to where they were and I ran to the grocery store! I didn't even make it at the store for more then 10 minutes when Garrett sent a panicked text that the girls had gotten busy with the scissors!!! I guess they snuck past Garrett and out into the backyard, to the one hiding spot they could find. Ciella cut her own hair, mostly the sides, up to her chin. Cadence cut her own too, a few front pieces up by her eyes, they were the shortest thankfully, but then her sweet sister, Ciella, seeing that Cadence couldn't get the back by herself, decided to cut her hair for her! How kind!!!
When I got home Garrett was pretty upset and had put both of the girls on time out, I'm sure threatening the wrath of Mom. But it didn't last long, all I could do was laugh. They just looked so funny, I actually had to step outside to stop laughing!
Ciella's really wasn't that bad as you can see, she just cut her sides up to her chin. You can see the actual length her hair was on her right arm in the picture. She went pretty short.

Cadence on the other hand, got a pretty good cut! She cut her sides as well, getting pretty short in some areas close to her face. I didn't get a picture of the back of her head but Ciella did her best and cut terribly, just random spots all over. She looked the worst and I think looked pretty tore up! She had such long hair, it was way past Ciella's in length, and she got SO MANY compliments on her gorgeous hair. It was long, dark, soft and thick! Although I had been wanting to see her with a cute little bob again, I was sad to see her hair so butchered!

But in the end, both girls LOVED their new do's. Ciella was pretty upset,... OK she bawled and bawled at first when I told her she had to have the rest of it cut and we threatened her with a "dad" hair cut if she ever did it again! But now she never wants to go back to long hair again. Her first comment was,"I don't have anymore tangles Mom!!!!"
Cadence also likes her hair, but doesn't really care either way. Still almost a month later I often get asked why we decided to cut their hair. Its always fun to relive!
Here's what Cadence does OFTEN!!! If I leave my purse down or makeup where its in her line of sight, she has put a huge amount on!!! Sometimes she's just to cute to punish though!!!
Ciella really is a happy kid and loves to make up all sorts of games, voices, names and stories.  She has got quiet the imagination.  I think she is beautiful, but I guess I am a bit partial!!!! Most nights at bed time, she will call me until I finally show up at her door, and then all she wants to say is, "I love you Mom!" And she will do this about 5 times!!!!! It makes my day usually!
We are lucky to have such sweet girls! I can't wait to see what this next baby looks like and who's temperament she takes after, mine or Garrett's!!!

Garrett is working like a mad man! He is an Architect by day and a college professor by night. The first job he got when we moved back to CA was at a local private college. His classes and schedule change every 10 weeks which makes life nice since if we don't like the schedule we know it will change soon, but also it complicates things because its always changing. He usually teaches a drawing class or two, sometimes a "residential building documents" or "commercial building documents" class. I think next semester he is teaching a interior design drawing class or something like that as well as a normal drawing class. He does enjoy teaching but wishes the students would take it more serious. Half the time they don't show up, you know college kids though, usually just out of high school. But he is a GREAT teacher and the students really like him. So does the staff who is always calling for him to substitute for them.
He recently got a second job as an Architect!!! He was thrilled! He works at that firm 3 days a week in between his classes at the college. With the economy so bad, most architects were laid off. So if a firm was hiring, they'd want 5 or more years experience and with him just graduating from his masters in Architecture, Garrett was no where near 5 years experience. SO he was thrilled to get the job here where we live. One big thing he had going for him was he knows so many of the new programs that are out that many older architects haven't had a chance to learn. Kinda like how our generation is so much more familiar with computers then our parents. He is the new generation of Architects that knows the newer programs.  In his spare time, he has been designing and building more patio covers. He really likes to do that since he has so much control over the design part. He is really talented and I love the patio's he designs. He works 3 nights a week teaching, and 3 days teaching and goes to the architecture firm in between those times. So the girls sure miss their dad like crazy and can't wait until Saturday when he's home ALL day!!! Ciella is generally planning something for us to do as a family long before Saturday comes!

I on the other hand am so exhausted by the time Saturday rolls around. I am thrilled to have Garrett home so that we can clean out the garage, fix something in the house or do something on my "honey do" list that I don't care of we do something fun. But lately we have been leaving the girls for part of the day with a grandma and spending some quality time together. Garrett's a good sport and when he gets home at 11:00 pm 3 nights a week, he just listens to all my complaints and lets me tell him all the little things that happened during the day. Sometimes I know I go on a bit long, but I am thankful he just listens. Then I want him to tell me all about his day and he's usually so tired, and has just listened to me ramble on and follow him all over the house talking for at least 30 minutes that he's ready for bed. But he is usually happy to share all about his day, it just doesn't last 30 minutes like mine does!
I am so ready to have this baby!!!! I am due officially on Thursday, yes this Thursday!!! But thankfully my super sweet Dr will break my water at his office this Wednesday at 9 am!! That way I can head straight to the hospital and they can't turn me away and make me go home if they are busy. I am so ready! Originally  I was gonna be induced earlier in my 39th week, but for some great, yet weird reason I do not know, I haven't gain much weight this pregnancy. I have gained a whopping 16 lbs! I haven't gained anything since the week of Christmas. I am eating like normal, just haven't gained much? I am measuring fine, and clearly look pregnant, but it is all baby. I really just look like I have a huge watermelon inside my stomach, otherwise you wouldn't know I was pregnant. Last week when I had my apt I was dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced but since I may have a small baby tucked inside of me, and most likely will, my Dr didn't want me to go in too soon and end up with a baby in the NICU. So I could of gone in today (Monday) but it really just isn't great for our schedule, Garrett working like a mad man and all. So Wednesday it is, that way Garrett can be there with me, and not have to miss too many days of work. I think then I will come home on Friday and will have the weekend with Garrett home.
So really tomorrow is my last day as a mom of 2!  I won't lie, I'm a bit nervous to have 3 kids. But my esophagus will thank me, I am sure, when my crazy heart burn finally goes away, my left hip will thank me when it doesn't feel like its breaking in half and I hope stops clicking with every step and my waist finally goes back to normal. I think my husband will thank me for that last one too! I was/am trying really hard to enjoy this pregnancy, it will most likely be our last baby, so I didn't want to rush her coming out. It is so fun to feel her move inside of me, but after how many months it kinds hurts. Especially now when my stomach feels like it can't get any tighter
Other then my pregnancy I don't think I have done anything worth blogging about lately. I feel like my days are spent driving my kids were they need to be, going to the grocery store, doing Ciella's home work with her, cleaning, constantly cleaning, and did I mention I clean a thousand mess's everyday that aren't mine! Between 2 kids, a puppy and a man, I am constantly picking other peoples crap up all day!
We are still just renting, and I need to really thank who ever the smart person was who decided to put ALL WHITE tile in the whole entire house. Its everywhere except the bedrooms which have laminate hardwood. So one little drop of water turns into 100 dirty little kid foot prints, 1,000 little dirty dog foot prints and about 10 million little smudges. I feel like to have our house look clean I sweep or vacuum daily and have to mop the whole house every 2 maybe 3 days tops. But who can complain when their house looks clean right?  I love the end product, just not how I get there!
I feel kinda lazy lately, I haven't really done anything crafty, cooked anything fun, made any fancy desserts or sewed anything either. I feel like I need to do something creative soon to stimulate my mind, but there just doesn't seem to be enough time.
I will have to get Garrett to snap a pregnant picture of me tomorrow so I can document this pregnancy with at least 1 picture of myself, and will try and post something as soon as our baby girl comes. We are still trying to figure out a name. I really LOVE the name Olive and thought we had decided on that name already, but Garrett's having second thoughts about it and wants to do something more normal. His vote is for Sophia,  and Ciella votes for Violet. Cadence is with me and hopes we have a baby Olive sometime on Wednesday! What name do you like out of those 3 ??? and Hurry cuz we are out of time!!!
I know this post has dragged on, but I guess I feel pressure to update now before life gets crazy with 3 kids!!!
